Small but perfectly formed craft shop in the heart of Tarbert.
About the business:
Earra Gael is one of Tarbert's most noticeable shops. Situated on the harbour, literally on the harbour, this tiny craft shop has a big heart. It's name translates from Gaelic as the Coast of the Gael and in its former life it was the gatekeeper for the weighbridge, up until 1987 it was the job of Earra Gael staff to man the weighbridge! Having been home to the work for artists and craftspeople from Argyll and beyond for almost 50 years, inside Earra Gael you'll find a treasure trove of arts, crafts and gift ideas for you, or someone special. Many of the items on offer are handmade or unique - from luxury knitwear to jewellery, sheepskin rugs to tartan picnic blankets, and many other things in between! Earra Gael is a 'must visit' when you come to Tarbert. There's always something different to see and you're always sure of a warm welcome.
